REA250 has requested for one-time, administrative stimulus funding as a means to develop unique public-private partnerships that can accelerate renewable energy industries and associated jobs in Nevada. The power of this approach is that it is independent of any increases in government staffing and the solutions developed by this funding will be sustainable without further government funding.

The focus of this work has been to develop the infrastructure that can interface with governmental agencies, state-wide and national training and educational organizations, businesses, and nonprofits. ...more... Wind Energy Technician and Research Project (WET):The acceleration of the renewable energy economy in Nevada is directly dependent on the development of integrated, multi-level training, education, and research that is responsive to the expansion of renewable energy industries. To accomplish this, the Renewable Energy Accelerator is developing a workforce training program that is nimble and flexible enough to meet a diverse and constantly evolving set of industry needs. In Reno, the WET Project proposes the construction of functional, educational wind turbines next to the DRI/TMCC campus. Facilitated by REA250, this project is using the development of this outdoor laboratory as a platform to create integrated renewable energy job training that builds on strong programs already in place. ....more...
