BLM Renewable Energy Priority Projects |
March 23 The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) has announced its 2011 list of 19 priority projects for developing renewable energy on national public lands. NSOE Helps Get 15 Renewable Energy Projects Going in Nevada |
Six solar photovoltaic systems, four wind turbines, three anaerobic digesters, and two hydro plants are under construction in Nevada, and a large manufacturing facility is on the way thanks to the Nevada State Office of Energy’s Revolving Loan Program. REA250 and NVIE receive a grant from the Department of Commerce |

REA250 and Nevada Industry Excellence have been awarded a one-year, federal grant of $395,000 from the Department of Commerce. The grant will fund a new virtual Manufacturing Center based on REA250's eResource Center website. Using this Center, the team will inventory supply chain capabilities of Northern Nevada manufacturers. To test how these supply chains work, two new clean diesel technologies will be fabricated. In addition, new clean diesel theory and technologies will be shared via the eResource Center with Nevada's universities, community colleges, and apprenticeship programs. Ralph Smith has worked as in the construction field in a number of capacities including Executive VP, Operations Manager, General Superintendent, and Superintendent. He understands each element of construction and construction management and offers strong skills in negotiating with owners, subcontractors and architects on project problems and win-win solutions. Ralph has been responsible for design build projects such as large land developments; high rise buildings, resorts lodging, retail and garages, hospital remodel, upgrade and remodels, government recreation and lodging. Ralph brought his expert knowledge of construction operations, managing and negotiation skills to two major Top ENR Fortune 400 construction companies. |

On May 25, 2010, members of REA250 were invited to speak to the Interim Finance Committee on ARRA funding. Susan and Don Clark, Bob Shriver and Jill Derby presented information about REA250 and its current projects.
